Did you have things about yourself you didn’t want people to know?   Well, I sure have !  Sharing my life is vulnerable.   Talking about my weight is as or more personal than talking about my finances.  In my book, Be Free, I finally resolved my fear and published my book in hopes of helping at least one person, and I’ve been blessed to hear some of the amazing stories of people who have improved their financial lives through my stories and lessons.   But for me, that still felt easier than my current journey.   In my financial story, I shared it after I was already financially successful.    In my wellness journey, I’m sharing it while I’m learning, struggling, making progress and taking steps back.   The thought of sharing my current struggles is nerve wrecking !!!
So you ask, why are you doing this?   Well 2 reasons.  One of my mentors, Tom Hill, has 4 mantras,  one says, you have a moral obligation to be the best person you can be.  This leads me to want to be healthy with tons of energy for a long time to come.
I’ve been blessed to have always felt healthy   But sometimes your feeling can deceive you and you have to be smarter than that.   One of my catalysts was on a flight home and I had to ask for a seat extension on the plane !!!   Oh my,  I had been traveling my whole life and this was the first, AND THE LAST, time I would ever have to do that !
My wellness goal is to lose 60 pounds gain a bit of muscle and be in shape to hike the Grand Canyon and never need a seat extension again !!   So now that I have my goal, why share it?
A good friend of mine, Loren Lahav says, if you could save one person’s life, would you do it.  And the answer is of course.  That’s where I find the strength to share my journey.  Even on the hard days of sharing a struggle or the ‘not such pretty’ days,  I will find the courage to tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly 🙂
Loren has amazing wellness contacts and is generous is sharing her contacts.  When I started down this journey, Loren and my friend Steph, had a mini intervention with me and basically said, you need to share this journey of yours.   You need to be the face of the company.  People will relate to and learn with you.  If we share your struggles and successes, they will be inspired to do their own wellness journey.
So, this is where my story begins, my struggles,  my education, my successes, my setback, and ultimately our combined results.   I will share all with you and hope you will do the same.  Ultimately my strength will come from this community and from you.   Let’s enjoy the well-being ride together !!!
